Lisa has almost three decades of experience in public, private, and proprietary higher education, in both four-year and two-year sectors. During her career, Lisa served as both Chief Enrollment Officer and Chief Retention Officer, and she has led large national financial aid divisions across the country.

She began her career at Mary Baldwin University, where she held a variety of positions including Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. Lisa also served as the Director of Student Finance at DeVry University, and held financial aid management positions at Northern Virginia Community College.

Lisa is a subject matter expert on both enrollment management and all aspects of financial aid. Throughout her diverse career, she has led many successful initiatives to increase enrollment, expand diversity, implement improved financial aid leveraging strategies, and develop “re-recruitment” retention plans.

Lisa received her bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College and her master’s degree in Human Resource Development from James Madison University. She currently holds several NASFAA credentials and has presented at a variety of financial aid conferences to students, parents, and higher education colleagues. Lisa was also voted as the “Staff Member of the Year” by students at Northern Virginia Community College, and she received DeVry’s prestigious “PRIDE” award during her time there.

When she’s not working, Lisa enjoys boating and is currently learning to scuba dive.

Justin Campbell

Justin Campbell is an enrollment marketing and growth strategist with more than a decade of experience helping colleges and universities improve recruitment, conversion, and enrollment outcomes through data-driven marketing, analytics, and engagement strategies.

Prior to joining enrollmentFUEL, Justin helped institutions leverage data, technology, and strategic outreach to strengthen student engagement and drive enrollment growth through his work with Cappex (now Appily) and EAB. His experience spans enrollment technology, strategic consulting, analytics, partner success, and business development, giving him a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing higher education today.

Justin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Augustana College with concentrations in Marketing and Management. He lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, two daughters, and beagle. In his free time, he enjoys concerts, cooking, and yard work.

Dr. Jacquelyn D. Elliott

Jacqui is a subject matter expert in all things Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM). Her areas of expertise include recruitment and retention strategies, strategic planning, budgeting, organizational histories, women in leadership, and goal mapping. 

With over thirty years of experience in higher education, she brings expertise in many areas relevant to the challenges of today’s Chief Enrollment Officer. She currently serves as Chief Experience Officer at Blue Rock Search, an executive search firm supporting HR, DEI, Private Equity, and Higher Education C-suite placements. She has served as the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Mary Baldwin College, Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Bridgewater College, and Vice President for Enrollment Management at Tusculum University. Her immediate past faculty appointment as International Liaison Specialist and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri—St. Louis (UMSL) and the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait—focused on academic program evaluation, accreditation, and faculty training and development. She also worked as the lead female faculty development trainer for the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia for ten years.

Additionally, Jacqui was a research associate at The American Council on Education (ACE) and a grant-sponsored research assistant for the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program (ELAM) hosted by Drexel University. Her dissertation, The American Council Education’s Office of Women in Higher Education: A Case Study of Evolution and Decline was a winner of the national Myra Sadker Dissertation Award.

In 2019, Jacqui was honored to receive AACRAO’s Award of Excellence in International Education. 

In her moments of joy, she loves international travel, riding motorcycles, collecting memories, and pinning down dreams.

A native of Maine, Lars (like the drummer from Metallica) moved to North Carolina after earning his B.A. in English at the University of Maine at Farmington. Lars brings valuable expertise to the enrollmentFUEL team from his experience working in undergraduate and graduate admissions and even career coaching and small business counseling throughout his career in higher education.

Since moving to North Carolina, he has earned his M.A. in Liberal and Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University.

Outside of his professional life, Lars considers his full-time job to be a husband and father. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading (especially Stephen King), being outdoors, geeking out over Star Trek, and indulging in the goofiest, goriest horror movies he can find.

Jordi graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She brings a comprehensive background across business development, sales leadership, and sales operations. She has supported high-growth teams, including helping to more than double client count through strong execution and cross-functional collaboration.

She is highly organized and data-driven with a talent for managing workflows, improving processes, and enabling teams to perform at a high level. Known for her collaborative and compassionate approach, Jordi builds strong relationships while driving measurable results.

A proud wife and mother, Jordi loves spending time with her family and being outside.

Joseph Montgomery

Joseph comes to enrollmentFUEL with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, including small private colleges, medium, selective private colleges, and four-year public colleges. Additionally, he spent six years at the College Board in its Higher Ed Services unit, serving member institutions. During his time at the College Board, he managed assigned accounts across the southern U.S. region. Most recently, Joseph served as the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at North Carolina A&T State University, where he led a team of enrollment professionals that achieved the largest enrollment in A&T’s history and the largest among all HBCUs.

Outside of work, Joseph focuses on being a great husband to Tonisha and a father to his three kids (Sade, Chanler, and Jaxson).

Milena Velez

Milena has been involved in the world of enrollment management since 2005, most recently serving as the Director of Admissions at Newberry College in S.C. before moving on to work with enrollmentFUEL full-time in 2021. Originally from Bulgaria, she has a passion for international students and adult learner populations, as well as putting together strategic enrollment initiatives and communication strategies that meet the needs of diverse and ever-changing student populations. Milena believes in the mission of higher education to better the lives of students and their communities, and is confident in the industry’s ability to achieve it through collaboration, compassion, and continuity of best practices.

A writer at heart, Milena completed her B.A. at Oberlin College, her MBA at Lake Erie College, and her Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Writing from The University of Findlay. She currently resides right outside of Columbia, SC with her husband, their daughter, and a dog that would sell them all for a jar of peanut butter. When not on a Zoom call, you might catch her speed-reading multiple books at the same time, adventuring with her daughter, writing fantasy folklore stories, or solving a puzzle with a cup of hot herbal tea.
